Speaking after signing his extension, Palmer said "I’m delighted to sign a new contract. Wrexham has become a home away from home for me and my family and my kids love coming to Wrexham more than anything! The fans have been unbelievable with me since I walked through the door, and I’ve met some great people not just at the Club but outside of it too.

"We’ve made some great memories and I’m looking forward to making many more. It’s been a good start to the season, and the key now for us is to push on together."

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Although Palmer may be well into his thirties, Wrexham will be glad to have a leader sticking around. In their quest to make it up the football pyramid, they will need a blend of talent and experience, with the striker providing both. Palmer has scored two goals in 10 matches so far this season for his side.
