Former Manchester United and Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez has returned to management after one year of unemployment. Following his retirement from professional football, Tevez accepted his first job as a head coach in 2022 when he took charge at Rosario Central. He spent one season at the club before heading to Independiente. Last summer, Tevez left the managerial role at the Argentine side, but has now been appointed by Club Atletico Talleres.

Tevez has joined Argentine top flight outfit Club Atletico Talleres as their new manager following the sudden resignation of head coach Diego Cocca and his entire coaching staff. The 41-year-old has accepted the job just weeks after he scored four goals in the Soccer Aid 2025 charity game at Old Trafford.

The official statement from Club Atletico read: "Following the resignation submitted by Diego Cocca and his technical staff this morning, first to the players and then to the authorities, the Board of Directors made the decision to hire Carlos Tevez as the new Technical Director."

The former Argentina international has a huge challenge on his hands as the club are currently struggling in 14th position in Group B of the Argentine top division. Tevez will conduct his first training session at the Amadeo Nuccetelli High-Performance Sports Centre on Wednesday, just hours after accepting the job.
