Fernandes starred with two assists and a goal as United thrashed Leicester City 3-0 in the Premier League on Sunday. With his goal contributions at King Power Stadium, the Portuguese midfielder became only the sixth Red Devils star after Ryan Giggs, Wayne Rooney, David Beckham, Paul Scholes, and Eric Cantona to register 50 assists in the Premier League.

Other than Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho also found their names on the scoresheet thereby breaking their long goal droughts in the 2024-25 campaign. Hojlund broke the deadlock in the first half while Garnacho doubled the team's lead in the 67th minute. The club captain then scored the final goal in the 90th minute to seal a crucial win for his team.
